New 'do, who's this? Beyoncé is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at Jay-Z’s recent transformation from locs to a natural afro.
In a new documentary released through her Cécred hair-care brand, Beyoncé explained that Jay wanted the hairstyle for his Roots Picnic headlining performance to honor his late father, Adnis Reeves, who famously wore an afro. She also revealed that Jay originally grew his hair out years ago to help daughter Blue Ivy feel more confident about her natural hair.
According to Beyoncé, the process of combing out nearly a decade’s worth of locs took six days and became a family effort.
