KODAK BLACK: Rehab-Bound

Kodak Black

Local news reports that the rapper was given a choice by the judge: either attend 30 days at a drug rehab facility starting next week or provide a hair sample, something Cohen disputes. Photo: Getty Images

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Kodak is currently awaiting trial on felony drug charges related to a traffic stop last summer.
  • Free Kodak!
  • Even the best lawyer in the world can't get you out of trouble when you mess up as many times as Kodak.
  • The judge cut him a break, allowing him to make his Rolling Loud California performance this weekend before beginning rehab.

Kodak Black is headed to rehab after violating the terms of his release.

The South Florida rapper appeared in court on Tuesday after missing a court-ordered drug screening and peeing dirty on another. While fentanyl was detected in the lab results, attorney Bradford Cohen argues that it’s possible the lab worker just got mixed up, a possibility the employee testified to in court under oath.

The self-proclaimed "Law Ronin" posted on Instagram, "Of course channel 10 got it wrong… No one refused a Hair sample. Pretrial does not provide Hair sample service… But I am glad @kodakblack will get an opportunity to take a break from his hectic schedule and focus on his physical health... Great kid, great philanthropist and as usual a portion of his Rolling Loud pay check will go to the Meadow Pollack scholarship fund at Nova Southeastern Law School, that he set up last year. @local10news You often see news reports that aren't accurate because they want those subscribers, and won't report on the good in the community and the good Kodak does there as well. Doesn't make for a good story." (Local 10)
