Here's a list of schools in the surrounding area that have decided to close due to possible impacts of Idalia:
Appling County School System - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug 30. All after-school meetings and sports will also be canceled.
College of Coastal Georgia - Will shift all classes online from 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Glynn County School System - Schools will dismiss at regular time Tuesday, and after school actives will end no later than 6:30pm. Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Liberty County School System - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. All after-school meetings and sports will also be canceled.
Long County School System - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug 30. All after-school meetings and sports will also be canceled.
McIntosh County School System - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System - Will close in-person learning and shift to virtual learning on Wednesday Aug 30. and Thursday Aug. 31
Tybee Island Maritime Academy - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Thursday, Aug. 31.
Ware County Schools - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Wayne County School System - Will be closed on Wednesday, Aug 30. All after-school meetings and sports will also be canceled.
