Mary J. Blige is finally a single woman again! The superstar has just finalized her messy divorce with her now ex-husband Kendu Isaacs.
According to multiple news outlets like The Blast and PEOPLE, the judge presiding over Blige's case signed off on the former couple's settlement on Wednesday (June 20). We don't know the terms of the settlement, however, because that remains confidential. Back in March, Blige and Isaacs reached the agreement. Now, it's finally official.
During her iHeartRadio album release party for Strength Of A Woman, the vocal powerhouse opened up about her drama-filled divorce. “Everyday is a process because it’s a lot that’s going on. But, there’s a lot of light in all this darkness," the singer told Angie Martinez.
"The beautiful thing is that I got the chance to take something so dark and give my fans a smile on their faces, and give them something that they can appreciate. Every single day it’s a challenge, it’s a trial. But, through this trial, I’m going to take care of myself, work out, pray God, keep my head up…and smile through it."
Blige and her former husband separated in 2016 after 12 years of marriage. They have no children together. But, Blige was step-mother to his three children; Briana, Jordan and Nas.
