Lil Durk is preparing to drop his next album no matter what's happening in his personal life.

On Monday, March 17, a brief video was posted to the Chicago rapper's Instagram timeline. In the clip, you can hear Durk on the phone from jail while he talks to a team of producers about making his forthcoming LP Deep Thoughts.

“I like the energy," Durk said on the phone. “What y’all been putting together. Even the list of songs you sent me is good so I know y’all putting better changes on that s**t so I know it’s gonna be bigger and better.”

"The Streets Still Need Me 🦅" the caption of the post reads. "Deep Thoughts The Album March 28th."

The clip reveals eight tracks from the album's potential tracklist. It looks like Durk plans to have Future and Jhene Aiko contribute to the project. Durk's tracklist also doesn't show the previous singles he dropped last year, "Opportunist" and "Late Checkout" featuring Hunxho. Shortly after the clip dropped, Durk also shared the official cover art for the album and reiterated the release date.

Lil Durk dropped his previous singles right before he was arrested last October in connection to an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Prosecutors allege the Grammy award-winning artist, born Durk Banks, placed a bounty on Quando Rondo's head and enlisted five men to assassinate his foe on August 19, 2022. Rondo wasn't hit during the shooting. Unfortunately, his cousin Lul Pab was shot and died on the scene. Lil Durk pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been in jail waiting for his trial date in October. He faces life in prison if convicted.
