Your Makeup Brushes Could Give You Toilet Face

I'm not a makeup artist by any turn of the phrase. In fact putting on eye shadow is enough of a challenge for me to ALMOST never wear it. I'm heavy on the almost because you can still find me in the bathroom on a Friday night watching YouTube tutorials. I mean can't you tell from the chaotic video below I shouldn't be trusted with eyeliner!

When I bought my brushes I also bought cleanser because I knew you needed to clean the brushes but I didn't why I needed to clean them. A new study found that your makeup brushes are dirtier than a toilet seat. The study, by cosmetic brand Spectrum Collections, found that no matter where the brushes were stored, the amount of bacteria on them was equal to or more than the toilet seat. Using dirty brushes could even lead to serious issues – one woman recently reported that she got ringworm from using unclean makeup brushes. Ideally, you should be cleaning your brushes with a gentle shampoo or brush-specific cleaner once every seven to 10 days.
