Listen to Ryan Leslie on iHeartRadio

A New York Police Department detective is taking rapper Ryan Leslie to court over the song "Joan of Arc."

Featured on Leslie's 2012 album Les Is More, the track features a voicemail message from Detective Luis Mortimer regarding Leslie's ex-girlfriend, supermodel Nicole Trunfio.

According to the "New York Post," Mortimer contacted the rapper after Trunfio told them Leslie was continuing to call her and knock on her door after the pair broke up.  Mortimer says the use of his voicemail message on Leslie's track violated his civil rights.

Mortimer's lawyer, Monica Kipiniak, says the track "has caused him embarrassment and has damaged his credibility as a detective."  He's seeking an undisclosed amount of damages.
